What job am I looking for?
I am looking for interesting and challenging research/development opportunities in a flexible and dynamic environment that will allow me to fulfill my potential on the one hand, and spend quality time with my family on the other hand.
Academic and Research Experience
As a PhD student I had the opportunity to participate in actual research. My research focused on communication efficient monitoring of distributed streams, for a list of my publications see the “publications” tab. I had the privilege to review papers for leading computer science conferences such as KDD (Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining,), DEBS (Distributed Event Based Systems), ICDE (International Conference on Data Engineering), and SDM (SIAM International Conference on Data Mining).
I collaborated with other researchers and developers from across Europe as a project member in the European Union FP7 LIFT Project (“Using local inference in massively distributed systems”), European Union FP7 FERARI Project (“Flexible event processing for big data architectures”), European Union FP7 INSIGHT Project (“Intelligent Synthesis and Real-tIme Response using Massive Streaming of Heterogeneous Data”), and European Union Horizon 2020 Programme VaVeL project (Variety, Veracity, VaLue: Handling the Multiplicity of Urban Sensors).
In addition to my duties as a teaching assistant of “Introduction to Computer – C” and “Software Engineering Methods” courses, I functioned as a coordinator of the prestigious ceClub seminar, hosting leading researchers from academia and industry. The seminar is jointly run by CS and EE and includes a range of topics connected to Computer Engineering.
Industry Experience
I have eight years of experience working as a software engineer at Intel Israel. My team specialized in design automation and layout productivity improvement for high-end CPU cores. I developed back-end engines as well as visualization tools, GUIs and flows that were used in the design of the Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, and Skylake processors. My duties included collaboration with other design and development teams both on site and abroad. As part of my role I had to provide immediate user support, and solve problems on the fly, as they emerge.
Skills
I believe in using the right tool for the job. Recently, for my research, I used mostly Python (and very little MATLAB), but I also have some experience in C/C++, Java, SQL, and TCL.
